ABOUT THIS BREWERY
We are located in the heart of the beautiful Yeo Valley in Somerset, just outside Bristol. Combining passion, sustainable agricultural practices and the latest viticultural techniques, we produce multi-award winning rosé wine from our Pinot noir and Seyval blanc grapes. We’ll be releasing our first sparkling wine toward the end of 2018. Dunleavy Vineyards were planted by owner and manager Ingrid Bates. Ingrid has a background in biology and, after a short stint working in the media, began her viticultural career 10 years ago when she took up a job maintaining a local vineyard. Having found her true vocation, she began planning and saving and finally planted her own vineyard in 2008.
A few years down the line, and after much hard work, Dunleavy Vineyards released their first wines in 2013. A busy few years followed as the wine went on to win ‘Best Local Wine’ at the Bristol Good Food Awards three years running and several silvers and bronzes at both the International Wine Challenge and SWVA regional awards. Ingrid was shortlisted for Young Grower of the Year and was also the main feature of the BBC Food Programme on English Wine with Sheila Dillon. Dunleavy rosé is stocked by award winning restaurants and has been recommended by food critic Nigel Barden on Radio 2’s Drivetime show and BBC London radio. As well as sourcing grapes from their own Chew Valley site near Wrington, Dunleavy also source grapes from a fabulous spot a few miles further south at Secret Valley. As well as having a beautiful vineyard, this family run farm also grows Christmas trees and has fabulous glamping facilities - well worth a look!
