Pomona Island founders Nick and Ryan ran the subterranean Gas Lamp Bar in Manchester before deciding to explore the world of brewing. Gaz was a brewer at Marble Brewery and James was a brewer at Tempest Brewery. It was clear their mutual experience would make a great combination and Pomona Island was born in 2017.

The pair describe themselves as “beer snobs and over-appreciators who thought we would put our (small amount of) money where our (big) mouths are. The beer is all stuff we like to drink. Loads of sessionable new world hoppy pales, more traditional stouts and porters. Big Juicy IPAs, and some fun experimental stuff to keep us and you interested.”
