Saint Mars Of The Desert Battle Of Mice
Saint Mars Of The Desert Battle Of Mice
The Battle of Frogs and Mice was written in the time of Homer, by an unknown author, and is a comic interpretation of the Greek Epic tale the Odyssey. To cut a long but funny story short, the King of the Frogs gives a ride to the King of the Mice, but accidentally drowns him. This leads to a war between Frogs and Mice, with various Greek Gods involved.
The Mice have equipped themselves for battle atop one of the most atypical beers styles of the most atypical brewing culture: Flanders Bitter. Perhaps in the similar way Americans re-imagined hoppy British ales, the young rebellious craft brewers of Belgium took the idea of an English bitter and twisted it into something uniquely their own. Strong and bitter with a powerful yeast character, these beers normally defy category. In our tribute we’re calling them Flanders Bitter and that’s that. Pale golden and Hopped with Whitbread Goldings and leaf Nugget.
